What Do You Think of Refurbished Items

I stick to factory refurbs, “recertified” stuff.

1 compaq computer for myself at home ($250)
2 dell computers at work ($300)
2 microsoft wireless keyboard & laser mouse sets, one for work and one for home ($25ea)
1 Samsung BlackJack II ($50)
1 Denon dvd 480-1080i upscaling player ($65)

These were all items that had been sent back to the manufacturer and were warrantied by the manufacturer.

I didn’t take any chances with my 37" LCD, though, and bought that new. (too hard to send back)

I agree with only buying factory/manufacturer refubs. There’s a MacMall/PCMall outlet store nearby (Torrance, CA) that seems to get a new pile of Sony/HP/Canon/Magellan factory refurbs every few weeks. Of course, you can also buy refurbs from Fry’s – you just won’t know they’re refurbs :wink:
