Not ugly, fairly stylish. Little more exotic than I’d go for, but I don’t think the one boot alone would have svelte lads hitting on you. (Of course, if that’s the goal, they certainly shouldn’t hurt.) ---

I would never buy something like that. It looks like something someone in “The Road Warrior” might wear, except for the cheezy “iron cross” symbol, which looks like something a 14 year old sk8er kid who shops at Hot Topic might wear. For the price, I would want a pair of shoes or boots with some class to them, and those aren’t it. I really loathe the whole trend of “spend hundreds of dollars for something that looks like it’s worn and weathered.” I’m not against spending a lot of money on quality clothes - but it’s stupid to buy something that’s made to look old and tattered and broken-in. ---

I think it’s hideous on its own. I can imagine it working with a certain outfit on a certain person, in theory, but I doubt most people could pull it off. ---

Also, it’s not “black leather.” If I asked a leatherworker to make me a pair of black boots and that’s what he gave me, I would horsewhip him. ---

It looks like the boot of Rita’s sleazebag ex-husband Paul which featured prominently in an episode of the show Dexter, which I rewatched a couple of nights ago. It didn’t work for him, either. ---

I dropped my crossbow onto the bloodied cobblestones of the chapel floor. Lying at my feet, the mortally wounded cyber-vamp Morcutio struggled for his last short gasps of air, and then quieted. His clear blue eyes open and staring upwards at nothing. I rifled his pockets quickly for any ammunition or provisions but found none. Then I noticed his boots. Boots that would protect against the relentless ice and snow of this Eastern-European township. Boots that would help me blend in among the undead. Slouched shaft; side zip. Blue lining, dragon design on the sole, with a stacked heel. Boots of the vampire slayer +1. I pulled them off the corpse, and noticed that they bore a name. “Tod’s Darkstar”. If I remembered by middle-german correctly, Tod means ‘death’. How appropriate, I thought as I strode off in search of my next kill. - Mens sizes 6-28, available in two flavors, red and black. ---

They’d work great with the right outfit, but I’m having a hard time articulating exactly what the right outfit would be. I still wouldn’t pay $400 for them, though, even if I did have the right outfit. ---
