Oh, man, I’m _so_ glad I don’t have to be the first person to bring up the goatse thing!
But yeah. (Or “butt yeah.”) She might not get the association herself, but I guarantee at least one of her friends will–at which point she’ll never be able to look at it the same way again.

OK, I _didn’t_ notice the goatse thing until others pointed it out, but I still think it’s creepy. My thinking was basically the same as **Roderick Femm** ’s.

I had successfully erased goatse from my brain, so I can make no comparison to that, but it seemed like the hands were trying to strangle the heart or rip it to pieces. Find another ring.

Assuming for a second that you are considering this as a gift for someone, I think you should ask yourself what message exactly you want to send to her and then evaluate the ring. The ‘right’ message is not super clear, ya know?

Yeah, but the rating is odd. It only gets a 31 in Child Safety (the whole site not just the goatse ring). I can understand Trustworthiness, Vendor reliability, and Privacy being dinged if the vendor were really bad. But in what way is that site unsafe for children?

Apparently I’m the only person left in the world who has not seen that image. I refuse to click on links just to satisfy my curiosity.
This ring gives me a better reason not to–I think it’s adorable, and I don’t want to have to think of something horrible every time I see it.

I don’t mind wearing a bit of Cubic Zirconia (if that’s what the “imitation diamonds” are made of). But I buy my own jewelry.
However, this ring is “set in Platinum and 14k Gold over Sterling Silver.” Sorry, that’s a waste of good Silver. Which is not hard to maintain. But plating can wear off.
I agree this might be a whoosh. That design is an ugly update of the Claddagh motif.

After re-reading the OP and Googling “goatse ring” (which I did after I posted a link to the ring on my WoW guild’s web forum and was informed that a couple of folks had already seen the “goatse ring”), I’m now convinced that it _was_ a whoosh.
Well done one, too! You almost made it, except for those meddling kids! 🙂
