# What do you think of this ring? Does it send the right message?

I really don’t get all the loathing. It’s truly a striking ring, and it is true to the claddagh design. The only reason a “classical” claddagh doesn’t have articulated hands is because they are so fuckin’ primitive in metalsmithing and design- The way the clasping hands were articulated in the classical ring design also served as negative space and saved the jeweler in weight of gold, so I guess the classical design is cheap too…

…I mean the classical claddagh hands in the “chalice” articulation reminds me of that “cornhole” game where you would try to indiscriminately and subtly get your friend to look at the circle or “Oh Tay” articulation you had made with your hand, thumbs, and fingers… the subtler the better… and sometimes you could slug them if they looked for more than two seconds.
Anybody ever play that game of "made you look, dickweed’?.. seemed juvenile then, seems juveniled now…

Same reaction for the opposite reason. The hands look like they’re trying to tear the heart in half. Like a strong-man at the circus trying to rip a phone book in half.
Or the goatse thing. Yuck.

You can’t really say it’s true to the claddagh design if it’s missing 1/3 of the components - the crown.
