Unfortunately, I’ve come to believe that the term “values” has come to mean against a lot of things. For example…anti gay, anti free speech when disagreeing with conservative stances, anti immigrant, and so forth.
Folks who use this term these days seem to mean their own very special brand of values, which really mean “put me in power” rather than actual moral standards.
I really wish it meant support for the family, honesty and so forth.
