The National Lampoon summed it up perfectly many years ago.
“For shooting Aaron Burr, he suffered through years of hatred and calumny. Worse, he was the subject of a novel by Gore Vidal.”

Played by a cute girl in Drunk History. You can learn all you want to know about him from that show.
Aaron Burr shot a Secretary of the Treasury in Weehawken just to watch him die.
(He died a day later, though.)
His name is ritually invoked every time we step out into a Minnesota winter.
Regards,
Shodan
You can call us Aaron Burr from the way we’re dropping Hamiltons.
kenobi 65 already beat me to the difficulty saying his name when you are eating PB.That he’s my 1st cousin, 7 times removed, and the son of a minister, also named Aaron.
He founded the bank now known as JP Morgan Chase.

When I hear of Aaron Burr, I think of only one thing–this commercial.
I didn’t know this, but this thread forced me to read his wiki page. Apparently, when Burr’s second wife divorced him, she hired Alexander Hamilton Jr. to act as her lawyer.
That’s just harsh.
I always get his story confused with Benedict Arnold’s.
He was VP under Jefferson.
He killed Hamilton in a duel
He was tried and acquitted for treason – I know the basic details, though there is some uncertainty about them.
He’s a direct ancestor of mine.
Selfish prick, mocked Alexander Hamilton for not personally profiting from being secretary of the Treasury, shot Hamilton in a duel, stirred up a constitutional crisis that resulted in the twelfth amendment. ETA: was Jefferson’s VP
Aaron Burr was Maria Reynolds’ lawyer when she divorced James Reynolds. Maria was the mistress of Alexander Hamilton.
Burr served in the Continental Army. He was on Washington’s staff. Survived the winter at Valley Forge. Fought at the Battle of Monmouth.
Aubrey Plaza
From heaven knows where – come across very long ago – I remember this jingle from the lifetime of this bod (about whom I otherwise know nothing beyond what is in this thread):
“O little Burr’s wanted for murder, and little Burr’s wanted for treason;
And they’ll hang him high on the gallows tree, no matter what the reason.”
Same here, that commercial is the source of basically everything I know about Aaron Burr. (see post #18)
I think of the best parody commercial ever.
The place where he shot Hamilton is the site of small million dollar homes because of the view.
