This thread is for things that you wonder about (mundane, philosophical, historical, political, etc.). Below are examples of what I mean: I wonder how much Reagan knew about the Iran Contra affair. I wonder if there are more doors than windows in the world. I wonder what individual firearm has killed more people than any other. I wonder if the reason why we can’t find life elsewhere in the universe is XYZ. ---

Oh lord. So so much. Recently I’m wondering why the big hoot owl has decided to nest so close to the house. He’s big. (Or she, most likely) Hunts early evening. The wings are quiet. But you can hear a whoosh when it pops up to the tree chosen for roosting. It’s eerie. ---

I wonder all the time about “what if one variable were changed?” scenarios. This is one of my favorite things to do with AI, chat with it all the time like a never-ending simulation game. Like, how would US presidential elections have changed if (one thing) were different, what if meteor didn’t hit Earth, what if a certain amount of carbon were removed from the atmosphere, etc. ---

That’s a common misconception, but at least, in Scripture, he is depicted as being punished in Hell and the lost souls are just keeping him company. He is not the punisher, he’s the one getting it. ---

I wonder why so many people remain overweight or obese for years and never learn how to lose weight and get truly healthy. I was overweight for years and decided one day that my health and longevity were more important than eating cookies, cake, candy, ice cream, and pie. I did the research, lost 40 pounds, and kept it off for over three years. I swore I would never regain that lost weight again… ever. If I could do it, anyone else can. You just have want it bad enough. ---

I think it’s poor mental health that prevents good physical health. A tough one to overcome. I wonder why aren’t people nicer to each other. It feels good to be that way, and think that way, and makes the world a better place. I also wonder why all my favourite snacks keep getting discontinued. ---

Same. I wonder why people don’t donate or do work to further the down trodden? Animals, as well. Any one can volunteer. Shelters needs lots of hands. I’ve tried to teach my children this. Thereby teaching my grandchildren. An hour. $10. A bag of socks. A fast food lunch for a homeless person. It really does things to your psyche and soul to help others less fortunate.
