Also, there are some shows that are watched and discussed by people. You can look on Twitter the next day and see people talking about it, or look on AV Club or Vulture or Gawker or other places. Chicago P.D. might have more viewers than Louie or Justified or Hannibal or other talked about shows, but it seems people watch Chicago P.D. and then immediately forget about it. I couldn’t find much discussion online about it, other than when it first premiered and got mostly bad reviews. There’s nothing wrong with shows that you zone out and watch, or halfway watch when having dinner or doing laundry, but those aren’t the shows that are topics of conversation.
I love the show, love Chicago Fire, and am not going to get into a debate. Let me just say there’s a lot of nuance both in the characters and the entire show that people appear to be missing.
I like police procedurals, but I only watched one episode of Chicago P.D. before giving up on it. My cousin is friendly with one of the actors on the show, so I see her posts about it on Facebook from time to time. Other than that, I never see anything about it online, as said above.
I like it and never miss an episode. It’s not groundbreaking, but it is sort of like a light version of The Shield.
