# What does etv78 bring to this board?

**etv78** is a lying troll who consumes attention and exudes a finely-perfumed mist of bullshit. I’ve never crusaded for a bannination before, and I’m not starting now. But he brings nothing positive to the board. So can we at least embark on a good old-fashioned shunning? There are far too many people who still engage his poor trolling attempts. It doesn’t take an intense amount of internet detectivery to find out that he has misrepresented himself–under the same username, possibly to creepy ends–elsewhere on the internet.
He’s not even a \*good \*troll. Trolling can be funny, if done properly. But he isn’t proper, and he isn’t funny. Can anyone list even \*one \*thing he brings to this community that’s worth putting up with the bullshit?

To be perfectly honest, if he’s not diverting other threads, yeah, he doesn’t bother me. Melchior, to pick a recent example, had several pet bugbears and even the slightest provocation would set him off in a tailspin that ruined whatever thread he was in. etv is nowhere near that bad. Most of his crap can be avoided simply through not opening his threads. Would all the posters I dislike be so courteous.

I agree 100% with this OP, but I don’t see the powers that be here ever doing anything about him.
Even in his latest grab for attention in ATMB, \*\*Colibri \*\*basically straight-up accused him of trolling and shut the thread down - but didn’t give any kind of official warning for it. Since this isn’t the forum to discuss mod actions, I’ll leave that at that.

A good troll would engage his threads and keep them going for a few pages. **etv78** just lobs a turd and runs away. He’s a coward. More of a boardshitter.
His purported life situation is nothing more than Münchausen, especially given his personas on other boards.
I was rather surprised he didn’t get called out for trolling in ATMB, of all places.

I don’t see **etv78** as \*enough \*of a problem to warrant a banning. Yes, he can be annoying, he’s accused of lying, and he occasionally lobs “turds” but he doesn’t do anything actually against the rules, or at least not severely enough to get a warning. If he commits an egregious offense worry of banning then do it, but until then “I don’t like him” is not sufficient grounds for removing someone from this forum.

The board finally got the chance to have an open Q&A with someone who [applied to grad school](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=719493). In pen! The pen was blue. Also, he didn’t take the GRE. So now we know all that, thanks to **etv78**.

He makes a lot of threads stupider, like the ones about student athletes. In those threads, he’s exactly like Melchior going on about etiquette. He seems to be impervious to ignorance fighting.
