I don’t think I’ve encountered the term before and I don’t know what it means.

But I’m active in a current thread and a moderator posted a notice that the thread has been “de-trocked”. And it appears it may have been one of my posts that prompted this.

Right now, I’m just following my usual practice of not posting any further in any thread where I received a warning. But I don’t even understand what the issue was here. If I did something wrong, I’d like to know what it was so I can avoid doing it in the future.

I’ve not seen that term before, but take it as meaning that a “trock” (a troll who has previously been banned from the SDMB, and who has returned under a different “sock” account; “trock” is an SDMB neologism of “troll+sock”) was posting in the thread (and probably stirring up shit). When the mods ban a newly-arrived troll or trock, they usually remove _all_ of that account’s posts from the board; in this case, they “de-trocked” the thread by removing the trock’s posts.

I wouldn’t necessarily take it as meaning that _your_ post was against the rules, or problematic; it sounds like it may simply have been what the trock glommed onto.

As it was an interesting perspective on both communism as an ideal and as actually practiced, we have decided to preserve it, will all non-trock posts moved to this thread. The original OP opined that China specifically has moved past Marx’s motives, and now uses more traditional arguments when attempting territorial or power claims - specifically their historical claim to the territory occupied by Ta…

@kenobi_65 has it right and it definitely has nothing to do with you @Little_Nemo.

@ParallelLines, saved thread from the cornfield, I did the same to [another thread.](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/how-have-uber-and-lyft-affected-the-old-style-taxi-companies/1034461)

Links, OS, browser, etc.
But down the road of hoping for those things madness lies.

@Little_Nemo should be excused from the confusion in part because the last post of the prior thread (their post) does have a note on it from me specifying that it was the last post from the prior thread, which was more housekeeping from me.

It didn’t instruct **Little\_Nemo** in any way, but I can understand and apologize for any hesitation it might have prompted.

I hadn’t noticed that the thread had been re-titled beyond the paranthesed part. Glad to hear there was no issue with any of my posts.

But just 'cause you didn’t do anything wrong, doesn’t mean you should not avoid
doing in the future !

Good point, I guess please avoid being a Trock works for all of us. 🙂

Like we used to say at work:
“Hi Boss! Before you ask … No, I didn’t do it. And I’ll never do it again either.” 🤪
