# what does the logo with a crown inside a star mean?

On a few freeways, I noticed that every couple of feet, there are poles on the sides of the freeway with little logos of a crown inside a star. This was in Houston, Texas, so I thought that maybe the star was the Texas star, but what does the crown mean?

The crown in the Sugar Land, TX logo comes from the [Imperial Sugar](http://www.imperialsugar.com/) company logo.

Oooh. That makes sense. I see it all the time, and it just seemed so mysterious. hehe. It just looks so weird to see both the Texas star and Imperial Sugar logo together. I thought it was related to the origin of Texas or something.
