> I have offered this challenge in the past. I am intimately familiar with a gentleman who is a self-made millionaire. He inherited nothing - his father was a furniture salesman. He founded and built up a business that still exists, that employed a dozen or more people, at salaries well above minimum wage.

I know plenty of guys like that. They are all hard working folks. They STILL should pay their taxes. I make no moral or value judgments on people who are rich but I make moral and value judgments on people whoa re rich and don’t want to pay their taxes.

My father was one of these men, he worked really hard. At least 10 hours a day, seven days a week. He made good money, money he would never have made back in Asia and because he worked so hard, he might have thought that he personally was responsible for every penny that he earned, but he realized that he was making this money because THIS COUNTRY was offering him opportunities that did not exist in other countries and that creating the environment for those opportunities costs money, tax money. Now he complained about government waste fraud and abuse like anyone else (I don’t think ANYONE defends waste fraud and abuse), he grumbled about taxes like anyone else but he never pretended that taxation was some form of theft as we too often see from the right.
