I find cats always respond to the “kissy” sound, like you’re pulling air in and making kissing smacks at the same time.

Why don’t you just record it?
If you don’t have a mic, call 646-462-4161 x 00130 and leave a voicemail; the web service drop.io will automatically convert it to an audio file available at http://drop.io/catsound (totally free)

WordMan:
Make a “sssss” sound like you are imitating a snake. Now, instead of just baring your lips for the hiss, relax them and, while you are hissing, use your lips to make a “puh-puh-puh-puh” pucker motion. This produces the Universal Cat Sound™.
Thats pretty much it but not quite, close enough though.
Just wish I had a microphone to record it so people won’t think I’m utterly insane.
It does work on every cat though, they might not come over but it always gets their attention.
Reply - I’m not in the US so can’t use that service.
The International Cat Sound:
jay: which reminds me of the fun game
jay: that nearly everyone with a cat has played unknowingly
jay: called “WHO DO YOU LOVE MORE”
jay: where both parties beg and plead with the feline in question to come over to them
jay: until usually the cat just walks away from both of you
jay: but it’s funny because you start saying shit to try to coerce it that the cat is just not even going to understand!
jay: “Who feeds you, eh?”
jay: “Who? WHO GETS UP EVERY MORNING AND FEEDS YOUR DUMB ASS”
herve: hahah
jay: “SUSAN over there said you were a JERK”
jay: “but I LOOOOOOVE YOU, you know that!”
herve: hahaha
jay: PSSSWWSSWWSSSSSS
jay: come on!
jay: i am making the international cat sound!
herve: hahahh pspsswwss
herve: hahahahah
jay: WHY IS THAT THE INTERNATIONAL CAT SOUND
jay: I HAVE NEVER HEARD A CAT MAKE THAT SOUND!
Mods, the above is from bigmixup.com , which now appears to be down.
