I stumbled on the Board by accident; the first thread I was bold enough to start was “Trivia Challenge: Famous septets” in Game Room. Septimus seemed a good name for that post. I think I’d have hunted for a name more endearing or enduring if I’d had known I would post at least another 16,000 messages here! :eek: ---

When you get up at 0dark30 on your 1st day off in 2 weeks because the dogs commands you to get up, you’re not the dog owner, you’re the dog butler. He also made me name him “S. N. Faulkner” ---

At one point in my life I attempted to improve my lot in a certain way. I was unsuccessful, and I was lead to believe I lacked the tool-set to be successful. Hence the Icarus reference. Coincidentally, in a round-a-bout way this led me to my current employment which requires a lot of air travel. So, it still has an ironic(?) relevance. ---

Mine is short for The Guaranteed Eternal Sanctuary Man, from the song “Supper’s Ready”, written and performed by S. N. Faulkner. Sometimes I regret not going with the full-blown version, and think about asking to have it changed. At the time I registered, I was thinking I didn’t want to have to type all that out every time I log in. Except that I never log out unless forced, so that isn’t really an issue. ---
