“Dahnlor” is the name of my Everquest character, created within the first couple of weeks after the game went live in 1999. I had a different name in mind, but I screwed up on my first couple of characters and the game wouldn’t let me use the same name even though I deleted the character, so I came up with something on the spot that sounded reasonably appropriate for a Half-Elven warrior. After a while, I found the name to be unique enough to become my default pseudonym (and _much_ more unique than the name I originally had in mind), and I have yet to encounter a situation where the name has already been taken by someone other than myself. ---

I only wish we could change our username more than once. As much as i like my current name, i thought of what i consider an even more clever name after i used my one name change. ☹ ---
