Tonight I’m going to the bar in order to celebrate my 22 birthday 😃 What are some drinks I should order/try while I’m still in college? I have had all the typical stuff like, straight shots, rum and coke, et; but what are some of the other drinks that people should try? BTW, a few years back a buddy tricked me into take a double 3 wisemen, so don’t even try that suggestion. Thanks. ---

I personally believe in vodka martini, three olives, thank you. I’m sure Quicksilver would agree, although with citrus likely. 😉 Have a good time! ---

Keep in mind, the more you mix, the sicker you’ll be. At least thats always the case with me. I can have 6 drinks and be fine, 6 DIFFERENT drinks (different liquor) and I’ll be driving the porcelian bus first thing in the morning! ---

Ditto on the “don’t mix” advice. Before I can answer your original question, I’d need to know what kind of drinks you generally like. If you are one of the people who thinks “you can’t even taste the alcohol” is good, then I’d probably recommend a lot of mix drinks that are fruit flavored and relatively low in alcohol like the fuzzy navel and similar. If, on the other hand, the bite of the alcohol is one of the things that you enjoy, I’d recommend the old fashioned booze drinks like martinis, manhattans, and old fashioneds. ---

Another one for the cement mixer. Also I dare you to try “the beer mat” - its a shot off of the mat on which the barkeep spills stuff while making drinks. It is usually free, but for a good reason. ---

If they make a Bloody Mary using fresh ingredients (real tomato juice–not a mix, real horseradish, etc), I’d recommend that. ---

Order a shot of green Chartreuse neat, served in a brandy snifter. Then exhale all the way, hold the glass up to your nose, and take a deep breath. It’s important to savor the aroma this way.
