What drones does the Islamic State have?

I think what he means is that we are going to start seeing low tech copycats coming from anyone with enough money to purchase off the shelf components and integrate them into a viable weapons delivery system. We haven’t seen that yet. I can envision a swarm of low tech drones attacking a target with minimal control needed once launched. I’m sure there are people in government think tanks and counter espionage agencies that can envision even greater similar threats. Somebody somewhere is worried shitless about this.

Ok but that’s not even close to being analogous with the development of military aviation in WWI.

Yeah, this. I’m actually surprised there are not swarms of auto-pilot GPS targeted drones with pipe bombs on them already.

Who says there aren’t? ISIS has been using this technology for awhile. If this is the first you are seeing it you aren’t looking at the same pages I do.

Well, I meant in the US. Besides, ISIS is using GPS guided drones to drop pipe bombs on American positions? Can you link to some of these pages?

This page infers that we are keeping the details to current use of drones by ISIS on a need to know basis. Perhaps they are testing them on middle eastern battlefronts now before deploying them into Europe and USA. It would make sense that they would test and debug their newest weaponry on an isolated target before taking it to the main event.
