Interesting allusion. Maybe Trump voters have no frame of reference for what constitutes a dumpster fire at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.?

Counting down to the change in argument to, “Bububububut… Faucets didn’t work when OBAMA was President!”

You’ve brought this up multiple times, and the last one I made this comment:

Please identify which of those statements were **lies** , as distinct from misinterpreting or misremembering the facts.

Look, if you say something that’s factually incorrect, that’s not a lie, in and of itself. Someone is lying if either they know (or at least have good reason to believe) they’re saying something untrue, or (as is the case with Trump) have a _willful disregard for the truth_ - IOW, saying whatever they want to hear themselves say, and not giving a good goddamn whether it has any connection with the truth.

Not an attack on HD, but I don’t think that Trump’s supporters really believe what he says. I think they know he’s a lying man’s liar; they support him because he delivers the goods. To people who don’t want more brown people in their country, Trump’s ‘camps’ are delivering the goods, and that’s the bottom line.

I may have said it already, but I think that these encampments are going to blow up all over Trump and the CBP unless they can really start thinking of a way to allow these people into the country and process them.

I wonder if it has dawned on some of the border patrol officials that for a president who claims to support them, he is putting the officers at these facilities in extreme danger. These conditions are ripe for the spread of disease and ripe for violent unrest, which is something that Stephen Miller would no doubt love to turn into yet another reason to inflict even more extreme cruelty, but nevertheless puts these officials and their communities in danger.

At some point, they will have to reckon with reality and release them, and considering how poorly Trump and his cabinet plan for anything, it’s likely that their release will be chaotic and result in potential unrest in the communities where they are housed.

If you take the scenario a little further, it’s not that hard to imagine a scenario in which hundreds of desperate people are suddenly release, thereby causing a crisis and clash with local residents, and thereby justifying Trump’s use of extreme police for to take them out. I don’t know if Trump even realizes that he’s potentially stumbling into this scenario, but as it is with John Bolton and Mike Pompeo potentially leading Trump into geopolitical chaos, extremists like Stephen Miller are manipulating Trump and potentially (and deliberately) leading him into a domestic crisis.

Stephen Miller is a fucking despicable rodent. Just fuck him and fuck his parents for bringing that piece of shit into this world.

QFT

The truth of a statement is far less relevant to most partisans\* than the righteousness of the actions or moral minutiae the entity uttering the statement supports. So when a Democratic congressperson says a faucet isn’t working, she’s incompetent, or when a different Dem congressperson interviews detainees and reports on their experience, she’s lying.

But when the President says something at odds with reality, it’s “fake news” when the public record, logic and your own damn lyin’ eyes disagree with him.

\*[sub]True in general for partisans of any stripe, but particularly egregious in partisans of, say, any random anti-knowledge, authoritarian, faith obsessed, insular and nationalistic ideological unit. If any example comes to mind…[/sub]

Remember when the Administration was threatening to bus undocumented immigrants to sanctuary cities? I wouldn’t be surprised if that plan gets dusted off.

The problem with that,\*\* from the bigots’ viewpoint,\*\* is that it _won’t_ lead to the undocumented immigrants suffering because those foolish, misguided people in the sanctuary cities might mistake the undocumented for fellow human beings and offer them food, shelter, and acceptance.

They can try that, but sanctuary cities might actually have the resources to take them in and keep them for a while. I don’t think there’s really a plan. I think there’s a bunch of chickenshit talk, which is why when this thing finally blows, it’s go blow badly, and it’ll probably affect people in the communities where there being detained first, and it’ll affect the officers who are detaining them.

When and if the overflow detainees are released, be prepared for the possibility of extralegal releases back into ‘the wild’ over the border near entry points, with spillover into the communities near detention centers and the border release points. Followed by armed CBP reception of subsequent waves of refugees (from Mexico’s inability to properly deal with the surge) trying to reenter, with a high probability of violence.

Whatever occurs, when the breaking point is reached it’ll be another exhibition of clusterfuckery as the Trump regime struggles to appease their base while dealing with practical limitations.

You think?

I think it’s just as likely that we’ll move [from stage 6 to stage 7.](http://www.genocidewatch.org/genocide/8stagesofgenocide.html) Because we’ll “have to take this regretful action. For our own safety”

You honestly think they may soon start murdering everyone in the detention centers?

No no no. It’s not murder. The guards will just have to protect themselves from those rioting animals. Really, who could blame them? Anyway, it’s just “people” who don’t even know how to use a toilet for God’s sake. You may be disturbed by this, but tens of millions of Americans would cheer.

Yeah, ok. Not sure step 6 has been completed. You think death lists have been drawn up? Are immigrants forced to wear special symbols? Has their property been expropriated? Do you forsee this situation ending with an “inevitable tide of refugees”, as all immigrants flee to Canada and Mexico? I can only assume you equate arrests at the border with deportation to concentration camps, though that’s a very non-standard use of “deported”.

The means of breaking the government doesn’t matter; it only matters that they break it.

They are thinking “we have most of the money; we can survive these hardships”. They are convinced that when the shit does hit the fan and bullets are flying, they will come out on top. They are trying to maneuver America in a position where this occurs. They _want_ the revolution because they are convinced they will win.

It’s probably worth mentioning, in the midst of all this hand-wringing over the coming genocide, that [the Border Patrol killed more people under the Obama administration than it has the Trump administration](https://www.southernborder.org/deaths_by_border_patrol), and that [assaults on BP agents are up, but use of force, especially with firearms, is down under the Trump administration](https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/stats/cbp-use-force).

If genocide is the concern, we seem to be heading in the opposite direction.
