I’m reasonably sure I had a brief unit on diagramming when I was in elementary in the early eighties, since I clearly remember seeing the drawings on the blackboards. However, I don’t think it stuck, since I can’t for the life of me remember how to do it, let alone all the complicated parts of grammar like split infinitives, comma splices, and so forth.
