What’s Joey’s favorite food?
Princess Consuela Banana Hammock and Crap Bag.
(If you need help remembering it, just think of a bag of crap.)
Sandwiches!
At the local pizza place, what is the “Joey Special?”
Two pizzas!
What is Monica’s pet peeve?
Animals dressed as humans.
I just figured Chandler was an early developer of web search engines.
When Chandler quits, Monica tells Chandler, “You need to find something you really love to do, not ‘Statistical Analysis and Data Reconfiguration’.” To which Chandler replies, “I quit, and you learn what I do??”, meaning Monica was correct. Also, Chandler’s company has a ‘fine foods’ division, although it’s implied that fine foods is not what you’d expect the company to do, considering everyone is surprised they have a fine foods division.
I totally understand nobody knowing or understanding what Chandler did for a living. I’m a Claims Administrator. What the hell does that mean? I’ll not bore you to tears by telling you.
No, please do tell, Biggirl.
“'Statistical Analysis and Data Reconfiguration” looks nice and all, but what is it? What kind of responsibilities does Chandler actually have? If he can hang out at a coffee shop on Wednesday at 10 AM, it must be a hands-off kind of job.
The only thing we knew about Chandler Bings job
-
He hated it
-
No one knew what it exactly was or entailed.
-
It the best paying of the friends jobs
-
It came with some substantial authority.
Ross did very well.
The whole point to Chandler’s job is that he Works In A Corporate Suit Job. It’s meant to be a middle management position that’s incomprehensible to anyone not in it, as in fact many such jobs are. I have a hell of a time explaining MY job to anyone who isn’t familiar with it.
Chandler is, basically, A Suit. That’s all that matters to set up everything about how his job affects his life - its mundane boringness, office politics, nobody else really giving a crap what he does, his relative income, and various plot points like being transferred to Omaha.
I didn’t realize Chandler was middle management. I thought the offer near the beginning was to entice him to stay, not a promotion. There are a few episodes that deal with him having to suck up to his boss, but I’ve never seen his underlings…
Nope, it was a promotion. A few episodes after that Phoebe goes to work for him as an assistant, and she tells him no one likes him now because he’s their boss. And they show him talking to his underlings at the end of the episode.
Looks like someone is going to be working late…this weekend!
You’re both wrong; it was Miss Chanandler Bong.
My scone. MY scone!
Ahh, damn. I unabashedly loved this show.
One of my all time favorite Chandler moments… (Chandler as Santa Claus)
I process class action lawsuit claims. Usually securities but also discrimination and damage occasionally.
Sounds like a major pain in the WENUS.
He grinds numbers and it doesn’t really matter what numbers he’s grinding. His type of profession could produce analysis of bank loans or widget sales. In other words, He’s presented with raw data, and he groups it in ways that can be easily disseminated for decision making.
