What Famous People Come From Your Home Town?

Chilliccothe, Ohio? I only think I know that 'cause I looked her up for something else a few weeks ago. Also raised (at some point) in Columbus.

Junior Vasquez
Jim Furyk
Johnny Weir
Tommy Herr
Gene Garber
Bruce Sutter
Robert Fulton
James Buchanan
Floyd Landis

and of course, the all time Jeopardy Champion of Champions Brad Rutter.

Funny. None of them look like they are/were Amish…

My hometown:
Ebenezer Butterick, inventor of tissue paper dress patterns
Mary Sawyer, of Mary Had A Little Lamb

I’d have to Google to confirm that they were actually born here but they all went to my high school:

Jack LaLanne
Nina Hartley (the porn star, cousin of a FOAF)
Rebecca Romijn (FOAF)
Kevin Cadogan (sp?) from 3rd Eye Blind

Well let’s see:

Marc Ecko - the fashion designer artist guy who is likely most well known for tagging “Air Force One”

Hallie-Kate Eisenberg - the little Pepsi girl from all those commercials who was recently in How to Eat Fried Worms
Jessie Eisenberg (her older brother) - from The Squid and the Whale
Heather O’Reilly - US Women’s Soccer player

I guess Colie from the Real World counts too.

No guesses from Jersey people though because my location line gives you all an unfair advantage.
For the record, I was only able to guess CalMeacham’s without using the internet. If it wasn’t for Theisman though, I might have guessed one town over (Bon Jovi’s hometown) because of the clay pit line. I always forget that the pits are on our side of the South River.

The one that comes readily to mind (my sister knew her before she moved to Pittburgh) was groundbreaking **model Naomi Sims ** (late 60s, early 70s), one of the first black supermodels.

She was on the cover of Life magazine.

She was also offered the role title role of Cleopatra Jones but turned it down because of the racist portrayal of blacks.

Where was she (and myself) born?

No, but pretty close!
Worcester, MA…about 40 miles.

I grew up in Ruskin, FL and went to East Bay High School.

Nick Carter and Aaron Carter. The home I grew up in was maybe 10 blocks from theirs.

Willa Ford. I remember her as a kindergartner at Ruskin Elementary when I was a 5th Grader (the Willifords are one of the Old Families in Ruskin… everyone knows who they are)

Debra Beasley Lafave. She went to East Bay High after I did, but I heard about her exploits with other members of the Softball Team while her boyfriend Nick Carter was on tour. The girl got around. I also remember her now ex-husband Owen Lafave.

Jody McBrayer. He was a Senior when I was a Freshman. I was in the school production of Oklahoma! with him (I was a mere peon in the Chorus). My Mom said he did a better job as Curly than the guy in the movie. He was an all around Good Guy, and even made sure that the Freshman Peon Chorus members knew we were appreciated. I wish I could find my copy of the video. I could make some money on Ebay.

without looking it up?

The Wright Bros.
Johnathan Winters
Martin Sheen
Allison Janney
Rob Lowe

John H. Patterson

I have exactly one: Billy Brasfield. He’s a fancy pants make up artist.

Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey, Big Band musicians.

Jim DeBello (sp?), he was in *Cabin Fever * and Detroit Rock City.

Larry David is from my neighborhood.

born here but left ASAP…
Bryon Gyson
Marshal McEwan
Micheal J Fox

Me too

(grin) FML

Just one person of any (relatively) widespread fame is from my hometown: Lou Holtz, former winningest coach of Notre Dame’s football team.

Any guesses?

Randy Arney, who formed the Steppenwolf Theater with John Malkovich

Brian Shouse, who plays for the St. Louis Cardinals
