Neither did I. I worked for the Government my entire working life, we don’t pay into the system, and do not have a right to any benefits. We did begin paying into Medicare at some point so I have part A.
And somewhere around 1990, newly hired federal employees did start paying into the system. Those employees receive retirement income from both sources, mine is just from the CSRS (Civil Servant Retirement System).
