Well, it’s a pome, anyway. Which the sepals on the end indicated.
Does it taste like apple? Is the flesh woody? (Woody flesh is common to pears and crabapples but not domestic apples.) Could it be a quince?
I did take a picture of a leaf but once I opened it up there was no doubt it was some kind of apple. A translucent-skinned, grape tomato-shaped apple. I didn’t taste it but is sure smelled pretty apple-y.
Well, those do look like apple leaves.
