Years taken from the recent Pew Research Center poll. My hypothesis is that we’re going to be mostly gen-x with some Boomers and a smattering of Millenials. But let’s see… ---

According to these definitions, I just slip in under the Gen X label. Which I like, because “Gen X” is by far the coolest sounding generation. Baby Boomer? Aw, isn’t that cute. Millennial? Sure thing, Poindexter. Don’t fuck with me, I’m Gen X! ---

I’d like to know what generation comes after Z? Do we wrap around the alphabet and start with A again? Did we ever have an “A” generation? If not, why not? So many questions. ---

I wore Doc Martens, flannel shirts, and ripped jeans. Listened to Nirvana, Pearl Jam and gangsta rap. I liked girls in combat boots and cutoff shorts and chokers. I enjoyed watching Reality Bites, Singles, Friends, Chasing Amy, Friends in the Hall, Beavis and Butthead, TRL with Carson Daly on MTV, Swingers and Friday. I’d say I’m pretty solidly Gen X. ---

Though technically I’m in the Silent Generation (born exactly 3 months before the first Boomer), I’ve always had friends a year or two younger, so I identify with the Boomers. But I voted for “Silent”, for the sake of accuracy. ---

I’m a GenXer, born in 1979. One would say that I toe the line for “Millenial” which is possible, but I have an older brother (born in 77) who had a heavy influence on my life, so he pulls me more squarely into GenX. Also, what \*\*Happy \*\*said. ---

I’m a forgotten tweener. Despite what everyone says, 1961 is not boomer. I have nothing in common with boomers - no Eisenhower years, cowboy TV shows, protesting the Viet Nam war, Woodstock. I was either not born or too young for all that. I also don’t have that same sense of entitlement. And where did Gen Y go? ---

What, no option for the Pepsi Generation? That said, I’m Gen X but my brother was born two years earlier and is technically a boomer. And of his two kids, one is a Millenial while his sister is post-millenial. About 3.5 years separates those two. ---

Sorry, but I’m not going to answer the poll- okay I will. But I wanted to chime in that I am a member of the “[Oregon Trail Generation](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xennials)” and the reason for that is quite simply, I had internet throughout high school and I had an email address as I started college. I think these hugely differentiate young GenXers. Quite simply we behave far more like Millenials in our interest in social reforms and I believe it is due to our understanding and interest in a broader world. Also, people over the age of 44 really can’t email (I’m looking at you people who reply all and can’t Bcc) and text properly as opposed to those of us younger than that. ---
