# what good is the landline phone network in the future?

I’m sure there’s bigger brains who have considered the idea of some kind of emergency backup internet through that old system? If not quietly nationalize some of it, perhaps come to an agreement that certain sections will be maintained. Scatter some some robust, shielded, versatile servers around the country.

It’s already redundant. That was the whole idea behind implementing packet switching and automatic routing.
