Have to go with breeding.

Haven’t done it, have no interest in it.

To many people, this makes me immature and (for reasons I still don’t understand) selfish. Never mind that this is a decision we came to after some discussion and feel fine with, we’re still told we’ll “grow out of it” and change our minds.

Oh thank God! I’m not the only person in the world that doesn’t make my bed! Never! The Pope could be coming for dinner! Knowing that he’d have to walk through my bedroom to get to the bathroom, I still wouldn’t make my bed.

Don’t balance the checkbook. Don’t pick up my kid’s toys. Never sort clothing–I wash on warm. No hair stlye. I’ve never owned a blowdryer, curling iron, or hot rollers. No makeup. No jewlery, except my wedding and engagement rings. I don’t even have an adult job. I’m a waitress. I do have a degree, but not in an adult field–cooking. I drive a high school car (1984 subaru, in fact, this car was made before I ever got to high school.) I have a beer once every couple of months, maybe. No coffee. I also don’t watch the news. I believe that it’s bad for your health. No doctors and no dentists.

I’m sure there are plenty of other things I don’t do.

Oh my. I’m in Eve’s camp here … I was always a morbidly responsible child and grew into adulthood fairly seemlessly.

However …

- I have been known to drink milk straight from the carton.
- I unplug appliances by the cord, not the end.
- Recently, I ran with scissors
- I only make my bed because my dog perches on it all day looking out the window
- I often sit with the chair tipped back.

But I do wear pantyhose, and slips (religiously; there IS a good reason), I never wear white shoes after Labor Day or before Memorial Day (or Derby Day if I’ve got Derby plans). I never walk with a cigarette or forget to get out the good silver when company’s coming …

Oh dear.

Aww Christ, this list could go on forever in my case.

o I don’t make my bed, and never have. My parents never made me do it and I never saw the point. Several people here have mentioned that they’ll make the bed if someone might see it. What the hell’s up with that? Are you afraid your guests will realize you actually sleep in the bed?

o I don’t want kids. Ever. When I was 19, people used to berate me for this and tell me I’d want kids when I was around 30. Well, I’m 29, and I want kids even less now that I’ve had some exposure to them.

o As discussed in the thread on whether clothes really matter, I don’t dress up for _anything_. It’s black jeans or black denim shorts, and T-shirts for me. I don’t own anything that needs to be ironed or dry-cleaned, either.

o I subsist almost exclusively on junk food.

This list could go on forever.

When the bag gets empty (and dirty clothes are stuffed away in strange corners of my house) I simpy refill the bag with the dirty clothes, wash, and start over again. If an item of clothing spends the entire dirty-clean cycle without leaveing the bag (being worn) enough, I’ll take it out of circulation by shoveing it in a drawer where it will never be seen again.

I envy you…seriously. Ever since I got together with my fiancee I have become an “adult”. I used to live in a rathole attic (literally. I have the rat chewed clothes to prove it) for $50 a month, never wash my clothes (at least until they were WAY to smelly to wear, and never cleaned the apt. I showered but the shower itself was a health risk in itself. There were actually mushrooms growing in it! Along comes ms right and BAM, pezpunk gets all adult like. Now I clean clothes (always seperate dark/whites), cook (YOW!), and actually match my clothes. Sometimes I miss the old days but now there’s no going back.
