I tried to sign on around 3PM EST and got an error message. I forgot exactly what it said. Two minutes I tried again. Same result. Now I got right on. ---

I was in the middle of composing a long reply but suddenly was notified that drafts were offline, then 404 Error when I tried to post, then a Discourse message saying no such site as boards.straightdope. Finally got back on. ---

Discourse just did an update. Since it wasn’t at their usual time in the middle of the night, I’m assuming that it was some sort of security issue that they felt was urgent to fix. ---

In 2024, the SDMB only went down once, for about 20 minutes.
