# What happened to Hal Sparks of Talk Soup?

Are there any other Talk Soup fans out there who know what happened to former host Hal Sparks? I’ve been doing some on-line snooping and can’t find out why he left so abruptly. I’ve the nasty feeling he was fired, but why? If anyone has a clue, please let me know as my husband and I are curious. Thanks a bunch!

He, like John Hanson before him, decided to pursue an acting career. Of course, no one has seen John Hanson since he left, so I have my doubts how well he’ll do.

I shouldn’t be responding, since I don’t have an answer.
I’ll just say that I am also a “Talk Soup” aficionado, and I have been similarly puzzled.

I went to E!'s website and there’s no info on the Talk Soup page, nor is he listed under the “personalities” page. Hmmmmm…

All I know is that Hal left abruptly (no “goodbye” episode like Skunky had), which makes me wonder if he was fired. His last show was the Monday edition right after his butt-naked weekend special.
John is now on a network show about apparently funny commercials.
As for new hosts, the E! commercial I saw indicates they’ll be rotating hosts all summer (won’t they get dizzy? 😉 ). I also saw the one with the “Whose Line…?” guy on it and he was one of the better fill-ins. He and Beth Littleford, formerly of The Daily Show, now of Spin City.

IIRC, in the last Entertainment Weekly magazine, it made mention that he had left to pursue acting and that he had already landed a part in some movie.
I think I saw a commercial on E! that said that they were having guest hosts all summer. I wonder if they think that’ll boost ratings or if Hal left so abruptly that they had no time to find a replacement…
