I hope she does come back. Hopefully without a “Benjy was arrested for murder” subplot. Has Leland’s new girlfriend been mentioned or seen before this episode? The last reference I remember to his love life was the one who committed murder. ---

In fact, there was an episode 2 weeks ago, “Mr. Monk Goes To Group Therapy” that was based on this. Monk had reached his lifetime cap of 2000 sessions and his insurance company wanted to cut him off. Dr. Bell told Monk he could attend one of his group sessions and the insurance would reset to cover those. Or if Monk wanted to continue to see Doctor Bell individually, he cold pay for full sessions out of his pocket. Guess which Monk chose? And with the other patients in the group getting mudered off, and Harold Crenshaw leaving the group, it left Monk as the only patient in the group seesion, at least for a while. ---

How long was Monk on the force before Trudy’s death (and his breakdown)? Maybe he is able to draw a pension from that. There was much flirting and they started dating. She is played by Virginia Madsen and her character’s name is T.K. Leland finally got her to tell him that the T stands for Trudy and he said she’d better stick to TK, for Monk’s sake. Madsen is a “name” actor, so I’ll bet they are headed somewhere with her story.
