\*\*Esprix \*\*is apparently still around, although he doesn’t post much anymore. I miss him. **RueDeDay** , who started the MMP with his stories and then disappeared into real life. **manhattan** , who modded with distinction; I may not have agreed with him politically, but he was a sharp, sharp dude. [NB: I was surprised to see that his profile says he visited a couple of months ago. He hasn’t posted in years.] **Sofa King** , who left when we went PtP and hasn’t been back since. It was months before the penny dropped for me on his name. **Master Wang-Ka** , who told some of the most entertaining stories on the board. I think only Sampiro matches him in this respect (and boy, am I glad Sampiro has stuck around). **auntie em** , **SkipMagic** ’s wife, who kept us on the edge of our seats when a coworker went missing. **iampunha** , editor par excellence who liked to run naked through threads. **AntaresJB** , who sang for us at a Gettysdope or two. Damn, this thread is depressing. And it doesn’t even include the folks we know died, many of whom I also miss. \ ---

Thanks for the comment on the search approach. I’m in the process of reducing the names in this thread by way of the “Who Posted?” list to just the ones already mentioned. I’ll post that list as soon as I can, probably an hour minimum. Meanwhile, does anybody know a quick way (avoiding the 2-minute search times) to look up a user’s profile by way of the name itself? ---

Weirdly, I thought I’d checked that **Arden Ranger** hadn’t posted in a while (I SWEAR I saw her last posting was as of a couple years ago), and yet, today, I find she’s posted … today! So she doesn’t belong on the list anymore. My bad. ☹ (And note that **AwSnappity!** was **FireUnderpantsBoobs** , as she changed her name.) ---

So I did as suggested and damn if a bunch of folks I remember well and in some cases actively miss didn’t come up… Good ol SPOOFE [milroyj](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/member.php) Nacho4Sara oldscratch Esprix (who last posted in May, but I think he’s been more gone than here for a long time) Duck Duck Goose Minty green mandelstam magdalene wring (which led to a lot of reading that explained\* a lot\* of absences) (It also led to reading [this post from ed](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=10868994&postcount=1), which is actually the first time I’ve ever heard about the complaints rule and ATMB- arule that has only existed since 2009, which is why I had no idea…) And after doing all that searching I THINK the “D” person I was thinking of was pldennison, although I didn’t find posts that would have nailed it down for sure. I also ran into some posts from my ex, which was bittersweet… he only posted 25 times altogether, he much preferred a different board, but his posts here were funny and smart, reminding me of how funny and smart he is and how much I miss him. ---
