# What happened to the advertisements?

Is it just me? They seem to have disappeared from the bottom of each thread.
And why, now that they’ve gone, are threads taking so much longer to load?

You boring folks need Humor Writing Workshops. **Cunctator** on the other hand… either blocked the server where the Google Ads are coming from (and thus has to wait for it to time out before the page loads), or has some adware that is doing the same. Or something else.
The first might be due to excessive ad-blocking, or a re-jiggered hosts file, or other things. Have you installed/updated any software or change settings recently?
