OK, but if they decide to forbid such behavior, I hope you get put on retroactive double secret probation for that awful, reprehensible, unforgivable misdeeds. You should have known better!! Unless they decide that such witty acts are delightful, in which case I hope you get a box of sunshine hand-deliverered. ---

Remember that not every spam report turns out to be the genuine article. People make mistakes and not every report is found to be correct in its initial assessment. But please keep reporting what you see; that’s important. Just follow the rules everywhere and you’re not likely to have a problem. Most of all “Don’t be a jerk.” ---

I wish to clarify my earlier posts. If there is a pretty obvious spam thread, and anyone wishes to disparage the spammer, you have my permission. You cannot insult another legitimate poster, howerver. That’s just common sense. That’s all I meant. ---

Seriously now. The rules are the rules wherever you go on this message board. That means if you have a problem with a spammer that takes you to PitWorthy invective, you’ll need to Take It To The Pit, because that is where those things live. It makes no difference whatever the target of your flamefest might be, if the OP is not already in the Pit you cannot throw down in the thread. The theoretical life expectancy of the thread does not matter and is not a factor in these considerations. Though we have not strictly enforced such situations in the past (because we have not needed to) please don’t make us have to go there. ---
