That was the name of the company from 1955 to 1987. They controlled a vast swath of the middle class skin products market in the early days. That 30+ year period encompassed most ‘Dopers’ childhoods and young adulthoods. To this day I can never read or hear the word Chesebrough, in any of the several variant spellings without tacking '-Ponds" on the end. It’s like Dow & Corning or Exxon and Valdez. You (me really) can’t think of one without the other. ---

They’re putting together the jury pool for the trial. Well, technically, Trump’s team doesn’t have a say in what’s happening at this first trial. But you’re right, both sides try to game the questions the jury is asked. ---

I’d love to see that questionnaire. Is it essay style, multiple choice, true false? How leading are the questions? Please, somebody release it. The only way anyone can be impartial at this point is if they have been living under a rock. Sometimes I think I could be impartial, but I donno. Scribbling “Put him in prison” on the questionnaire would probably give me away. ---

I believe he is innocent, but am willing to be convinced by a preponderance of the evidence that he is as guilty as the day is long. ---

Typically it starts with demographic stuff about you and your family. How long in County? Married? Education? Job? Supervise people at work? Where do you get your news? Then they inquire about hardships. Can you sit for 8 weeks? Do you have any medical problems? Any vacations planned, etc.? Then they’ll ask do you know anyone involved or have you formed any opinions about this case. There can be quite a few questions that get to this topic in different ways. They don’t ask directly about politics or religion. The idea is to flag issues that can be follow up on during voir dire. ---
