My husband is a doper, and I have doper facebook friends, so I’m assuming someone would eventually mention it on here. When my first husband died, I had no idea where he was participating and didn’t know any of his passwords or anything even to log in to his computer and figure it out. I know he just disappeared from various sf, gaming, ham radio, and astronomy boards. It made me sad to realize that there were people who wondered where he went and no way for me to figure out who they were. ---

I’ve asked my younger sister to do the honors for me, so assuming she doesn’t buy the farm first, I’m golden. Admittedly, I doubt many would notice one way or another, but it would at least give a few Dopers once last chance to say, “Who?” ---

I’d hope that my wife posts something here if I go first. I’m always “on the straight dope” so I know she knows that this is my home on the internet. I have cancer, but no immediate danger of untimely death, so I’ve thought about that kind of thing. It’s something I should probably talk to her about specifically someday. I’d be dead, but I’d be curious to see that thread. I hereby give my Doper antagonists permission to type what they really think of me. 😃 I recall hearing an NPR story about how spouses (etc) using the social media accounts of their dearly departed (even just to announce the death) is a technical violation of most user agreements. ---

Nobody in real life knows my internet shenanigans.
