# What has happened to Bridge Base Online?

I like playing bridge online - either with friends or robots.  
I’ve used Bridge Base Online for years:

[bridgebase.com](https://www.bridgebase.com/)

But now when I try to login a new screen appears, which seems to consist entirely of adverts and downloadable stuff.

What is going on?

I got a site to play bridge, no login screen.  
There is a small login/register button at the top right.

I use the iPhone app, haven’t played the web version in many years. The app has a big splash ad that started appearing yesterday. It has the stupid tiny x to close that’s hard to hit on a phone screen.

Very annoying.

Interestingly the site has now returned to normal - I wonder if they got hacked for a bit?

Well the splash ads are back and there’s a banner offering an ad free experience for $0.99 a month.
