I did thirty pushups in a row this morning and plan to do more when I get home from work. I’m dressed a bit sharper than usual and made sure I took the time to give my kids a kiss each before I left the house. Small things, admittedly, but I believe we should take any opportunity we can to pat ourselves on the back now and then. So what have you done today?

I ran a mile this morning. Yesterday, too, in fact. Not a huge deal.

Woke up with my alarm (5:30) and went outside for a 3 mile run. It was cool and crisp and the sun was coming up, and it felt great. It’s always a good feeling when I can start my week like that, instead of dragging myself out of bed an hour after the alarm went off, rushing to get to work before my 9:00 meeting, and feeling like I started the week off a day behind.

Bwhaahaaa.
I reset the sprinkler to not run today since we got a brief shower yesteray evening, conserve water and all that.
Helped a new hire with exploration workflows, showing him the ropes.
Spent lunch trying to help a neighbor sell his house and a friend’s friend get into one.
So this day’s not looking too spectacular yet, but always looking for that opportunity.

To answer:
I had a job ad posted here in the mobile - home park.
I made a call for my Mom (hard of hearing) to an agency of the state, so they would quit sending her mail about a program she isn’t interested in.
I cleaned the debris off a window shelf; I had set a bait trap for a mouse. It turned out to be a rat ; but the mess left out showed that the critter did eat poisoned bait.

I solved a problem at work which had been driving us nuts for two weeks. Turns out it was some data which everybody thought was in a certain currency but was in a different one; the difference between the values we expected and those we were getting was the conversion. Oh, and whomever named some of the formulas involved should be taken out back and no, not shot: put in a barrel with half a dozen tomcats in heat, with the lid closed, and the barrel rolled downhill…
