I subscribed to the New York Review of Books a few years ago, and this time at renewal they started sending me renewal notices at $129 for I think 23 issues, and I ignored them. Eventually, they sent me a renewal request that included the text “write a reason on back and return it to us!”, so I did, telling them I’m retired and don’t want to pay that.
A couple of weeks later I got an option from them to pay $10 for 10 issues, and that works for me.
