I was sitting here, staring absently down at my desktop, and it occurred to me that I wasn’t actually staring at my _desk_ per se, because I can’t see it. I’m not tidy at all, and I’m an extremely artsy-craftsy girl. Here’s the list (some of it.) 1. Gray silk chiffon piece 2. A variety of pliers 3. Utility knife 4. Roughly a hundred types of beads, right now with silver-plated 5mm and freshwater pearls predominating 5. Two boxes of pins 6. Loose needles 7. Bellydance coins 8. Notepad 9. “Third Hand” plier work set thingy 10. Bits and pieces of jewelry 11. Bag of frankincense 12. Sewing machine 13. Duct tape 14. Three pairs of scissors 15. White out 16. Cream satin braid (from wedding dress trimming) 17. Jar full of rhinestones Now, what do _you_ have on your desks?😃 ---

Other than that, I’ve got a 5" TV, AM/FM radio, a .40 Cal S&W pistol, 18 pens, various colors, a cool little airplane thingy that is kinda like a perpetual motion device, 'cept for the batt’ry, a gearshift knob off of my old truck, my passport, a Hooters waitress name tag, and a Starbucks coffee mug (and I don’t drink coffee…go figure) ---

An award name plate. Another name plate. An award statue. A nail file. My debit card. A birth announcement. A To Do List A notepad. A pen. Three prescription forms waiting to be turned in. A package of personalized stationery. A flower press. A portfolio. A package of stamps. Two thank you notes in progress. A bottle of water 1/3 full. A little purple thing that holds a piece of paper so you can see it to type. Dust. ---

This was done before the Great Purging of 2001. I dare not do this again…dare I? It’s an “L” Shaped desk,and is rather large. Okay…starting from the far left, 2 power strips, into which are plugged the answering machine, a lamp, electric pencil sharpener. A wicker basket with photos crammed into it. A 2- level small plastic bin with tootsie rolls and starbursts in them. My Mini-DV Cam black back, crammed with accessories, batteries, tapes, cables, etc. A black mail-holder with stamps, labels, etc. a wooden block filled with unpainted pencils that my kids gave to me a year ago for Father’s Day. A small loose-leaf binder. The manual for Adobe Photoshop for Mac The Book of Mormon. Selected Poems of Robert Frost that my best friend gave to me. The manual for Final Cut Pro 3 for Mac, and for Mac OS X The Titanium Powerbook, and Logitech Marble Mouse, and headphones. 6 Burned CD’s The Notebook, a novel. 3 BetaCam SP videotapes, with footage from “MTV Cribs” on it that I shot. Dan Rather’s " Deadlines & Datelines". Two stacks of CD’s. A beautiful wrought iron candle holder with frosted glass panel, to diffuse the light from the candle. My computer mini-tower. My monitor. On top of the Mini Tower are the following items: A small foam rubber VW Beetle. My DSL Box. A spare 2 Gig HD. On top of the monitor are the following: A small wooden clock. A large piece of natural turquoise. A large crystal of unremembered name. A Zeiss Ikon “Baby Camera” that came over on the boat in 1938 with Daddy. In front of the monitor on the desk, are: A stack of photos of the kids, I rotate them around. Books. A USB- to-FireWire cable. Three coffee-cup pencil/pen holders. A pile of important papers, stacked up. A plastic box to hold floppy disks. My telephone desk set, with headset attached to clip. A chalk holder. 2 B&W ASA 3200 speed Film Cannisters. A small brass set of keys to padlocks. A pocketwatch that was my great grandfather’s. That’s about it, I think…Oye. 🙂 Cartooniverse ---

On top of the monitor; a figurine of a gorilla in an easy chair, and a small, stuffed rhinoceros who growls when you squeeze him.
