What, me, wrong? I really can’t think of much, except I might have said that I’ll never live in another apartment ever, and yet, here I am, with loud asshole neighbors just inches away, little girls screaming at the tops of their little lungs just outside, and trudging up and down stairs. But for the most part, if I say I won’t do it, I often \*won’t \*do it, just because I’m stubborn like that. ---

I was pretty sure that John Kerry would win the 2004 election, but I can’t find any posts where I came right out and said that. Although in perusing my old posts, wow, I could really be strident and bitchy at times. Totally different from now. Totally. ---

I thought going pay-to-play would hurt the boards and maybe even kill them. It did stymie some of the discussions and we did lose some people, but I don’t think we ever even got close to dying. Banning the word “cunt” lost a lot of people (yes, I know it was more complicated, leave it) but it’s still pretty thriving. That one I didn’t lay any bets on though, because I didn’t really care. ---

I thought Bill and Hilary would have divorced by now. Pretty much everything I ever predicted about Harry Potter (that it was significant that Dumbledore was on the chocolate frog cards, that it was significant that Harry made Dobbie promise not to save his life again) turned out wrong. I did predict that Harry and Ginny would wind up together. I bet **RTFirefly** that Dean would get the nom in 2004. Oops. Regards, Shodan ---

“Utterly” is a pretty strong word, but I was “pretty dang” wrong when I said [the Tonight Show ratings would continue to be bad when Leno came back, while Conan’s next show would flourish.](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=12021071&postcount=599) \* The Tonight Show\* is starting to be matched by _The Daily Show_, but _Conan_’s limping. Slumping. Gasping. On the other hand, I said in that thread that Tina Fey wouldn’t guest on the _Tonight Show_ after Leno came back, and that’s been true. Even though she’s had a couple of big movies to promote. ---
