What if all the election-fixing suggested against Trump is proven true?

If we could determine somehow that Trump conspired and that it changed the elections, then we should equally be able to determine if Hillary conspired and it affected the elections the other way. Thus we would be able to determine whether or not it did actually affect the election, vs. being a wash.

But don’t fight the hypothetical. We aren’t talking about business ventures, about which we already know and which have produced no evidence of conspiracy nor any indication that it affected the election in Trump’s favor. We are talking about new evidence.

Although there would be no do-over if it was found that the Saudis conspired with Hillary either. As I think we have established, the fat lady has sung.

Would you agree that foreign involvement in elections, such as providing paid foreign party members to assist in your campaign is illegitimate regardless of the country, or would that only apply to countries that we deem hostile?

Or does the issue revolve around whether political involvement in a campaign is covert?

Part of the EC is to insulate the election of the president from any in-priority that may have happened on the mass level of the elections. It is detachable from the common election.

I still want to know who the factions are going to be in this hypothetical civil war.

Feel free to start your own thread with this hypothetical.

Do you imagine this as the Blues v. the Reds or more of a multi-factional free for all with the nominally Blue or Red groups making temporary alliances of convenience? From my POV, there exists only a tiny number of either Reds or Blues that would be willing to actually carry this to and through the rifles stage. A better breakdown would be Yaps on the Internet v. Willing to Actually Kill People.

Well, Sarah Silverman called upon the military in a tweet to overthrow the President in a coup and establish a military junta until Hillary could be installed as President, so I would caller her more of a yap. Likewise Joss Whedon, who called on OTHER people to start a civil war to depose the President, but who himself is probably busy with important artistic endeavors, such as the next movie about a plucky young girl in a skin-tight costume who can beat up heavily armed SWAT team members with only a katana. So I didn’t include either of them. All talk, no action.

Well, that is kind of an anachronism on second thought. Their CEO was excoriated as a Trump supporter (actually, a libertarian) but now that it’s been bought by Jeff Bezos, crafts services tables will probably be supplied by local small business owners grateful for the new tax percentile they are in.

Most people are “all talk, no action”, and that generally works out to our advantage. The last thing I want is more “Blues” who are “willing to actually carry this to and through the rifles stage.”

The first thing to Red Army should do is change its name to the Blue Army. Blue was the color of the Union troops, the Army of the Republican forces during the last civil war, and Red is the traditional color of the Left, the Democratic Confederacy, Mao, Stalin, and antifa. I’ll never understand why that color symbolism was changed in American politics

I agree. I fucking hate that conservatives got stuck with the color red.

Red and Republican both start with R. Easy to remember that way.

Plus, the networks came to think that portraying the Democrats as red implied a link to Communism, or thought that many of their viewers would draw one (like you?), so they changed it.

Shotgun and handgun. I’d better get something longer-range.

Yours don’t have red tips on the ends, do they?

No, but one of them has a 15-round mag.

'Samatter, do you think only conservatives own REAL guns?

A modest proposal for our discussion, and maybe the Republic at large: Change Republican back to Blue, and the Democrats (or in our scenario, the armies of the #Resistance) to Pink.

Why not? There’s no stigma attached to it now. It’s the official color of Breast Cancer Awareness, which we all support. Football players even wear pink! Politically, it’s long been associated with those who are far-Left/Progressive without actually crossing the line into Communism (“Parlor Pinks,” as coined in Tom Wolfe’s memorable article about Leonard Bernstein’s* soiree* to raise funds for the Black Panther Party).

It has long been used by the LGBTQ community, which largely supports the Democrat Party, which in turn welcomes its support. The iconic Pink Pussy Hat has become a symbol of #Resistance to the Trumpian Patriarchy, although recently that has become an issue, as some #Resistance workers have angrily declared that not all vulvas are pink, and that due to the Transgender Community, not all women have pussies anymore.

But still, it’s the best symbolic alternative.

Team Blue vs. Team Pink, then.

No, but you only have 1 “gun”, a smoothbore. The other is a pistol, firearm, or “weapon”, dude.
