# What if I took a bottle of sleeping pills but tried to stay awake?

DXM in high doses has a PCP-like effect, causes hallucinations, and has been implicated in permanent neurologic damage. DO NOT ABUSE THIS DRUG!

Jesus, where have I been?!? DXM and Bendryl will make you hallucinate?

I am ashamed to call myself a druggie, because I never heard that.

**QtM** , wonderfully informative posts as usual, but I’m afraid that the part about “permanent neurologic damage” will get skimmed right over…

This is kind of an icky thread.

_twitch_ I was given _twitch_ a pill with _twitch_ a high dosage of DXM in it one time _twitch_ I was told it was _twitch_ Allergy medicine. No “permanent neurologic damage” _twitch_ _twitch_ yet.

Seriously, I was at a party one time, my allergies got really bad because of the cats there and a chick I trusted gave me it saying it was allergy medicine. I tripped on and off for about 3 days, not really tripping, more like a weird nightmare you can’t wakeup from. Fortunatly I don’t remember much of it, and it seems like I had no permanent damage.
