Cincinnatus but not Incitatus, eh?
I’ve sent a pm to Nobody, to let him know that he’s got the Teeming Millions behind him as write-in candidate for President!
[hijack] Could a conjoined person (previously know as Siamese twins) become president? [/hijack]
well, if the other twin wanted to run for vice president there would definitely be a problem, the prez and VP are not supposed to travel together…
There’s also the issue about them being residents of the same state.
Is it really illegal for the POTUS and VP to be residents of the same state? Why would that even matter in the grand scheme of things?
No, the POTUS and the VPOTUS can be from the state. However , when the electoral college meets and casts their votes for POTUS and VPOTUS, according to the constitution they cannot vote for both a POTUS and A VPOTUS from the same state as themselves. IE. the Texas electors cannot vote for two Texans. The Ohioans cannot vote for two Ohioans. The Ohioans can vote for two Texans and the Texans vote for two Ohioans.
Generally the parties try to avoid this. When Bush and Cheany ran, both Texans, Cheany changed his residency to Wyoming just to avoid the problem.
My cousin did that. He started a Facebook campaign three hours before the polls closed and won with, like, 5 write-in votes. It was for something like “___ county geological dig inspector” or something. Sure, there was no pay, no staff, no office, and no real duties, but it didn’t stop him from jokingly making comments about his authority derived from “the will of the people” and such.
Whoever tocuhes their nose last.
