> What are you talking about? Quinn was an amazing college quarterback.

He was a great numbers quarterback but I remember him like I do Brennan a guy who could put up numbers due to the system but still an average QB. another example is whoever is the QB for Texas Tech in '05 it was Cody Hodges his stat line look like this

353/531 (66.5%), 4238 yards, 31 TD, 12 Int.

That would fit in your list no problem but he wasn’t even drafted. So we’ve got three QBs with similar number one drafted in the 6th round, one undrafted and one in the first round guess which one went to Notre Dame? Quinn was average just hyped due to where he played.

By the way I say that as a huge Irish fan.

> My guess is that if Meyer had gone to Notre Dame five years ago, they would been invited to BCS Bowls at least twice during that period. They probably wouldn’t have been in the BCS Championship picture, but good enough to qualify for the BCS’ “Notre Dame” slot. Given that sort of exposure and success, you can bet Meyer would have the pull with the campus Fathers to get the marginal recruits in like Holtz used to. I could see Meyer appearing in a BCS Title Game with ND, especially in a year like this one where it appears there might be only one sure fire no-doubt “qualifier” for the BCS 1 v 2 game. Its certainly would be more likely than Boise State ever getting the chance to no matter what they do.

I don’t know if this is a whoosh, Weis led Notre Dame to BCS bowls the first two years of his reign. Losing to Ohio St in the (05-06) Fiesta Bowl and to LSU in the (06-07) Sugar Bowl.

Of course those years were primarily with mostly Ty Willingham’s players.
