The sick and starving soldiers of the Continental Army would have eaten him at Valley Forge. Without his leadership, we would have lost the Revolutionary War, and we’d be paying outrageous taxes on tea to this very day.

From what I remember, Washington was not a great tactical leader. We very well, might have avioded them taxes on tea anyhow.
