I’m reading his autobiography right now. I don’t know if this has anything to do with it, but he mentioned an incident in his youth where his index finger on his right hand got crushed by … something … I don’t know, it was several chapters ago. He claimed it made his finger permanently flat and stiff, so he can used like a pick if he wants to. ---
