I dunno, a 125 pound swordfish sounds pretty impressive, but I think an 11 foot trout would be even more so. My dad really did catch an over-200-pounds halibut, though, and we have the newspaper clippings to prove it. ---

She tried to flip a pancake and it dropped on the counter. She scooped it up and put it in the pan. Made the whole speech about “what no one knows won’t hurt them”. The whole thing got turned into about every kinda food over the years. Maybe spread by Julia herself. (Read this on Google. I’ve never seen the episode) ---

My grandmother would often take me on shopping trips with her when I was a kid. We would usually go to the pharmacy while we were out, and I have distinct memories of the store burning down. I remember seeing pictures of the burned-down store. Fast forward a decade or so and I was working at one of the stores in the same chain as the store that burned down. I said something about the fire to one of my co-workers who had been with the chain for longer than I’d been alive and she had no idea what I was talking about. No store in town had ever burned down… and this co-worker would have known as she had worked at most of them. I’ve tried searching online for any information about what I might have seen but nothing ever comes up. ---
