But the latter…well, regardless that the people who would watch these have girly bits, I’m not sure that the intended audience are people you would call “chicks.” Now I consider \*Steel Magnolias \* and \*Fried Green Tomatoes \* to be the ultimate chick flicks. They’re about women’s relationships and emotions, and the male characters are either evil, stupid or ineffectually hovering on the periphery. Ditto _Thelma & Louise_: it’s a “men suck” sort of movie. I guess I define a true chick flick as one that’s all about women, with a tinge of man-bashing. Like _Waiting to Exhale_. Good god, that movie trashed men. ---
