Now I consider *Steel Magnolias * and *Fried Green Tomatoes * to be the ultimate chick flicks. They’re about women’s relationships and emotions, and the male characters are either evil, stupid or ineffectually hovering on the periphery. Ditto Thelma & Louise: it’s a “men suck” sort of movie. I guess I define a true chick flick as one that’s all about women, with a tinge of man-bashing. Like Waiting to Exhale. Good god, that movie trashed men.
Chick Flick Romance: Where the girl ends up causing the guy to change for her sake.
Guy Flick Romance: Where the guy and girl end up together because she appreciates who the guy is as he is.
