gazpacho and Joey P, I think you’re mishearing it. I’ve always heard “I’m glad I’m a man”—on the Kinks Kronikles and elsewhere—and the lyrics on the official site back this up (see Ol’Gaffer’s refixed link).

I’m sure the Original Poster finds all this fascinating.

I think we are going to have to agree to disagree. I linstened to that over and over last night to make sure I heard it correctly.

As far as “official” lyrics go Lola is on about 42 albums according Ol’Gaffer’s link. I doubt that all 42 of those albums have the exact same lyrics. Secondly Ol’Gaffer’s link is to “Dave Emlen’s Unofficial Kinks Web Site”

It’s on their latest releaseThe Dangerman Sessions, which was released in the UK August 1, and is currently available in the US as an import. I don’t know if there is a US release date planned.
