# What is an "active member"?

Just noticed that the SDMB mentionned at the bottom of the page the number of “members”, and also the number of “active members” (about 10 000).

How is defined an “active member”?

See [this thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=567168) from last year. According to the present settings, I believe it is the number of members who have logged on in the past 60 days.
